The International Communication Section (ICOMM)

of the International Studies Association

Share the Love, Join ICOMM

ICOMM members, ISA members, scholars interested in international communication, friends, Romans! Lend us your ears. We invite old and new members to come together at ISA 2016 in Atlanta. Deadline for abstract/panel submissions is June 1st.

From social media’s critical role in wars and uprisings to cyber security and public diplomacy, international communication is clearly now a critical and growing feature of international studies.  We would like to reflect this growth in our ICOMM section and offer more panels at the annual ISA conference to reflect all the new areas relevant to our section.

  • We invite our existing members to submit a paper and/or a panel for ISA 2016 in Atlanta and renew their membership in ICOMM.
  • As you might have seen in our listserv, we encourage our members to invite their colleagues to submit a proposal to ISA (with ICOMM as their first section choice) and also join the ICOMM section. If you introduce a colleague, please send their name and affiliation to Senem Cevik of the ICOMM Membership Growth Committee, as we would like to acknowledge your contribution to helping grow the section.
  • If you are not familiar with ICOMM and you are interested in international communication issues such as the impact of information technologies in world politics, the role of the media in foreign policy, cultural dimensions of international studies, the political economy of the communications industries, and information in the global order, we also encourage you to submit a proposal through the ICOMM section for ISA 2016.

About Efe

I read and write about political communication stuff and I play with data to see what they have to say. I also love to cook.
